Twelve citizens od Bosnia and Herzegovina who were in Afghanistan and who contacted the BiH Embassy in Pakistan, ie the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers, are evacuated, the head of the Public Relations Office of the relevant ministry, Nebojsa Regoje told Srna news agency.
Regoje pointed out that the Ministry does not have information that another BiH citizen is in Afghanistan.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to provide assistance if it receives information about BiH citizens who may still be in Afghanistan,” he added.
Thousands of Afghans are waiting in front of the entrance to Kabul airport, hoping to leave the country after the Taliban came to power on August 15. At least 20 people were killed in large crowds in front of the airport, a NATO official told Reuters.
