cimburijadaThe Zenica Čimburijada this year will be held along the river Bosna at Kamberović Polje, and a huge number of Zenica citizens will participate to celebrate this year’s traditional event.

As every year, the Zenica caterer Rasim Salčinović will distribute to citizens čimbur made of 1.500 eggs.

“The tradition of making čimbur lasts for more than a few hundred years, and in spring eggs were the first joy. I have decide to continue this tradition. What is most important is for čimbur to not get burned and to share it with citizens. This year, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Zenica čimbur with more than 1.000 eggs”, said Salčinović.

President of Zenica Forum of citizens, the technical organizer of Čimburijada, Tvrtko Mešanović said that the aim is for the content of Čimburijada to be better every year.

“Every year we want to enrich the content of Čimburijada. Thus, within the event a sports competition will be held, and we also have a children’s program where we will organize a competition on the topic “Spring in our city is coming”. This year the art works will be sold for symbolic prices, and the funds will be donated to charity”, said Mešanović.

As a part of today’s activities a regatta will be held, but also the traditional swimming of Emilijan Knežević from Zenica.
