Eleven Years in Prison for Sretko Pavic for War Crimes against Civilians

The Panel of the Appellate Division of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina handed down, on 16 July 2020, a second instance judgment in the case of Sretko Pavić. The accused Sretko Pavić is found guilty of the criminal offense of War Crimes against the Civilian Population under Article 142(1) of the Criminal Code of the SFRY, as read with Article 22 of the same Code. Thus, the Appellate Panel of the Court of BiH sentenced the accused to imprisonment for a term of 11 (eleven) years.

The First Instance Judgment of the Court of BiH, of 24 June 2019, found the accused Sretko Pavić guilty of the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172(1) h) in connection with item a), all as read with Article 29 and Article 180(1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Court sentenced the accused Sretko Pavić to imprisonment for a term of 13 (thirteen) years.

The Appellate Panel of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued, on 10 October 2019, a decision in the case of Sretko Pavić granting the appeal filed by counsel for the accused Sretko Pavić, revoking the Judgment of the Court of BiH of 24 June 2019, and ordering a hearing before the Appellate Division Panel.
