The remains of at least one victim of the past war were exhumed today at the Saric harem site in Mostar.
The mortal remains tied in a bag were noticed by the workers during the excavation of the grave site in this harem.
According to the information of the Institute for Missing Persons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is presumed that this is a victim of Bosniak nationality, who disappeared in this area in 1993.
After the exhumation, on the spot, bone samples were taken for DNA analysis, in order to determine the identity of the victim with the help of this method.
The remains were transferred to the Sutina City Cemetery in Mostar, where forensic medical and technical processing will be carried out.
The exhumation was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and by order of the Court of BiH.
