SDA leader Bakir Izetbegovic said on Friday in Banja Luka that he would not call Republika Srpska (RS) a “genocidal creation”.
“I will not say such words, I will not call the RS a genocidal creation, nor will I question it. It is determined by the Dayton Agreement, it exists for me as a part of Bosnia and Herzegovina(BiH),” Izetbegovic said, answering a journalist’s question after the SDA Presidency session.
However, he added that there are historical facts about what happened, and those are war crimes, ethnic cleansing, genocide in 1995…
“We cannot forbid people to talk about these things. At the same time, of course, we cannot blame the entire Serbian people for such things, the entire army of RS, only those who really did it, who were convicted. What the courts ruled, that is relevant to me, ” the SDA president stated.
Izetbegovic told that we should not insult or provoke each other, but we should respect and help each other.
He added that the law recently adopted by the National Assembly of RS (NARS) is controversial since it overturned the decision of the Office of the High Representative (OHR). He reminded that the NARS is not competent to do that.
“No one can revoke the OHR decision except for it to be adopted in the BiH Parliament and then changed through amendments,” Izetbegovic reminded.
