The Austro-Hungarian period in the history of Sarajevo is characterized as a period of industrialization, development, adaptation to western culture and various social changes. The three most importanat, most obvious and biggest changes in Sarajevo which happened during Austro-Hungarian rule are the changes in the political structure of the city, the architectural style, as well as changes in the education system.
