The first vaccines against coronavirus should arrive in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) next Wednesday, on February 17th.
These are vaccines manufactured by Pfizer, which were developed in cooperation with the German BioNTech, and the news was confirmed by a source close to the Government of FBiH, Klix
The first contingent should contain 16.000 doses that will be used for vaccinations of the highest priority groups, part of health workers, staff, and users of nursing homes. These 16.000 doses are part of the first shipment of the common COVAX system for our country, which should receive a total of 23.400 doses.
The remaining 7.400 will be distributed to Republika Srpska (RS) and Brcko District.
As it is already known, the BiH Ministry of Civil Affairs received a notice and confirmation from the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) at the end of January, stating that the delivery of vaccines to BiH will begin in mid-February.
According to the first official announcements, the vaccines were supposed to arrive at the end of January or the beginning of February, and it is known that they will arrive continuously through smaller shipments.
It is also known that the first vaccines that arrive in the FBiH will be stored in Mostar.
