The diving competition called “Bentbasa Cliff Diving” was held on Saturday in Sarajevo at Bentbasa, a former popular summer gathering place on the banks of theRiverr Miljacka.
Jumpers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region took participated, and the first place was won by Elvan Krnic (Montenegro, Tuzi), the second by Mustafa Sarić (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zenica) and the third by Sanjin Zejnilagic (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo).
According to the representatives of the event organizers, Dino Bajric, the coronavirus pandemic prevented athletes from other European countries from arriving.
Bajric also said that this event has been held for the sixth year on this important location, unfortunately forgotten, as he added, so apart from Bentbaxa, the competition promotes Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, sports and health.
The organizers took the necessary measures to protect against the coronavirus, and the jumps were watched up close by a limited number of spectators in a fenced area wide enough for the necessary physical distance from each other.
Masks and disinfectants were an integral part of the protective measures. Among the competitors and in the jury were prominent representatives of this extreme sport, champion jumpers from the Old Bridge in Mostar.
