At the extraordinary session of the Central Election Commission of BiH (CEC BiH), they rejected the request for recounting 2,000 votes that arrived after the deadline.
The session was attended by seven members of the CEC, of which four were against and three for re-counting of votes that were received after the deadline.
The request of one member of the CEC was rejected because, as the other members said, they do not want to violate rules or the law that after the late arrival of the votes were violated.
Otherwise, these are the votes that arrived by mail from abroad for local elections that were held on the 2nd of October, although these votes came to address of the Commission with stamps on envelopes.
“With its Regulation of conducting elections in BiH, the CEC has set a date by which they receive mail from abroad, and according to the regulations, votes received by the mail will be accepted two days after the elections in BiH. It is known that CEC counts only those votes that had received two days after the election, with the seal until the election day. That is all I can say at the moment,” said spokeswoman of CEC, Maksida Piric.
