A five-year-old Boy drowned while trying to Cross the Border with Croatia

A five-year-old boy drowned around midnight in the Una River in Novi Grad. According to the available information from the local center, the child is from Afghanistan, and he died while the family was trying to cross into the Una River in Croatia.

A family, parents and four children tried to cross the border, and the child who died fell out of his father’s hands.

The incident was reported to the police by a local, who heard his parents moaning.

Members of the Novi Grad Police Station, the Novi Grad Territorial Fire Brigade, and the Health Center were on the spot, and locals with boats joined the search.

The child’s body was found after about forty minutes and after a failed resuscitation attempt, he was transported to the morgue at the Novi Grad Health Center.

The family is at the Novi Grad Police Station, and the prosecutor’s office was informed about the even, Srna news agency writes.
