Family members, friends and fellow citizens of the Bosniaks killed in Višegrad, thrown 3,000 roses into the Drina River for 3,000 lives as the note said, that was carried to the bridge of Mehmed-pasha Sokolović. Today they gathered to mark the 25th anniversary of their death.
During the Serbian aggression, majority of Bosniak population was banished from Višegrad, and more than 1,760 people were killed. In the spring of 1992, the ethnic cleansing and mass murder of Bosniaks begun.
It was said, once again, that this crime must never be forgotten and that Bosniaks must not allow banishing anymore.
Funeral for three victims that were exhumed from the Lake Perućac took place at the cemetery Stražište.
From the ‘’Association of Višegrad 92’’ said that the Drina River is the biggest mass grave of them all. The wreaths were laid on the bridge and all attended recited Fatiha for all victims.
The youngest two victims were only six and seven years old at the moment of death, and the oldest two victims were 78 and 74 years old.
