Members of the delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH PA) Danijela Martinović and Zvonko Jurišić participate in Vienna in a regular autumn session of the Parliamentary Dimension of the Central European Initiative (PDCE), during which, on the occasion of 25th anniversary of the CEI, the participants will talk about the results and the future of this international organization.
Jurišić addressed the participants in a session devoted to the results and the further path of the CEI after 25 years of existence and work of this international organization, and in his speech he stressed that BiH is committed and that its activities would continue to focus towards the achievement of the strategic objectives of the CEI, among which the most important ones are unification of Europe and mutual assistance of the CEI member states focused on supporting the less developed member countries.
“In addition to this, Bosnia and Herzegovina supports the role of the CEI in the European integration process and actively cooperates with a number of international organizations and institutions.
Bosnia and Herzegovina fully supported the CEI Agenda for the 2014 to 2016, especially the areas of cooperation divided into three thematic pillars, covering a total range of activities of the CEI – towards a society based on knowledge, towards a sustainable economy and inclusive society,” said Jurišić.
The importance of the Central European Initiative, he said, is to build the capacity of countries, which are not yet members of the European Union, to be able to speed up reforms and as soon as possible join the EU.
He said that in the past 25 years, the CEI justified its existence and it grew into the project-oriented organization, which deals with key development issues of the member states.
