The star of the movies Dunkirk, The Reverant and Mad Max: Fury Road, Tom Hardy, will play in the movie about the war in BiH, which is named “My War Gone By, I Miss It So”. The film was created according to the book of English journalist and war correspondent Anthony Lloyd from 1999.
Gavin O’Connor was mentioned as a producer and director together with Scott LaStaiti, who established the Fund for culture and entertainment “Palantir Group” last year, as reported by Variety.
“My War Gone By, I Miss It So” represents Lloyd’s personal experience of war in BiH and his life in the British Army, as well as experience with the divorce of his parents, and dependence on heroin.
My War Gone By is a brutal, but also sensitive story about addiction to drugs and war experiences.
Hardy said that he was astonished by Anthony’s work.
“Acts, words, and his experiences really touched me, and this is an important book and testimony about everything that happened,” said Hardy.
“Anthony’s memories represent a love from the first page, and then the portrait of the war. I never read anything like this. This is a personal and up-close fight against addiction as well as a report from the first lines of the war thar halpened in BiH, which was the bloodiest conflict in Europe ever since the end of World War II. This is Anthony’s Apocalypse, and the book was literally written with both hands. I feel very privileged to produce the film based on this book,” stated O’Connor.
