As Grahovo has had problems with garbage for months now, the pastor of Drvar and Bosansko Grahovo Don Davor Klecina made contact with the Mayor of Grahovo and the director of the utility company and offered the help of the young Spaniards who were staying at the work camp in Drvar in the organization of the local Catholic parish from July 24th to 31st.
Thanks to the director of “Herzeg Bosna Woods” Kupres Drasko Brnic, the Spaniards were transported from Drvar to Grahovo and back by the Grahovo Forestry bus, and the local utility company has provided a sufficient number of gloves and garbage bags, as well as the water.
Also at the request of the organizer of this initiative addressed to the local Police station and the utility company, an approach to the roads was enabled for the trucks that have been loaded and which transported full garbage containers to the dump.
According to Don Davor Klecina’s information, the young Spaniards thoroughly cleaned up the streets of the city center, especially the areas near the containers full of trash, and emptied the garbage cans that have not been emptied for months.
Although the campaign had been announced via social networks a day before, except for several individuals no other local residents, nor any young people, joined the guests from Spain in cleaning the streets. However, not even that bothered the young Spaniards from thoroughly cleaning the central city zone and who ended the campaign with song and a good atmosphere.
