The Parliament of Canada unanimously adopted a second resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, as confirmed by Emir Ramić from the Institute for Research of Genocide, Canada.
The first resolution on Srebrenica was adopted by the Parliament of Canada on 19th of October, 2010. Second resolution is confirming the previous resolution, and 11th of July is confirmed in Canada as the Day of Remembrance for the victims of the Srebrenica genocide.
Srebrenica genocide, by the second resolution adopted by the Parliament of Canada, together with five other largest genocide of the 20th century, has entered in commemoration and the study of this country. April is the month that is declared as month for fight against genocide in Canada.
The Institute for Research of Genocide Canada and the Congress of North American Bosniaks (CNAB) said that they greatly appreciate the member of the Canadian Parliament Brian Masse, the sponsor of this resolution, and a great friend of Bosniaks and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
‘’We give thanks to the members of the Parliament of Canada, Irwin Cotler and Stephen Dion, who also spoke publicly about the genocide in Srebrenica in the Parliament. We give thanks to everyone who together with IRGC and CNAB lobbied for this resolution, ‘’said Ramić.
