Eastern Herzegovina must be a place of coexistence and tolerance, and it is up to the religious officials to do everything they can to keep it like that, concluded Reis-ul-ulema of the Islamic Community in BiH Husein ef. Kavazovic and Bishop of the Zahumlje-Herzegovina and Primorje County Grigorije, yesterday in Bileca.
“It is very important to contribute to the return of Muslims in this region and that we all together make lives of these people easier, to restore confidence between the nations. We have a lot of work on this way, by spreading love among people and respect each other as it always was in this region,” said Kavazovic.
Emphasizing that he is aware that the returnee life is difficult anywhere in BiH, he added that returnees to this area do not have major security problems, as Sadet ef. Bilalic, main imam of Bileca and Gacko, informed him.
Bishop Grigorije called this meeting and the visit, which was attended by the Mufti of Mostar Salem Dedovic as well, a major step in mutual relations of both this people and their religious leaders.
“Every day we are trying to show both to ourselves and other people that there is no other way of life except to respect ourselves and others, to love each other and, as much as possible, to look at each other as on our own, not to have fear from each other but great love,” said Bishop of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and Primorje.
Main imam Sadet ef. Bilalic stated that this visit delighted all Bosniak returnees who, according to him, have the same problems as their fellows Serbs, and that is unemployment and the need for help for sustainable return.
“It is far better situation in Gacko, when it comes to the return of Bosniaks, given the fact that we have several returnee villages, such as Kula Fazlagic with around 40 families, as well as Bahori, but in the summer time, a large number of Bosniak returnees, mainly young people, come here from Sarajevo, Mostar and Dubrovnik. However, the return of Bosniaks was least achieved in Bileca with just a few people, including the grandmother Fata Jaganjac who is very attached to the Emperor’s mosque in the center of the city,” said Bilalic.
Religious officials attended the commissioning of lifts into function for people with disabilities in front of the Emperor’s Mosque in Bileca.
