BBC warns on the epidemic of measles that prevails in our country – the situation is the worst in the whole Europe. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that B&H represents one of the biggest hot spots of this epidemic, right after Kyrgyzstan.
5,340 cases of measles has been registered last year and in the first five months of this year in our country, a disease that kills 100 thousand people every year.
As this story is ruining the plans of WHO to completely eradicate measles by the end of this year, the Organization urged the authorities to establish control as soon as possible.
The BBC explained that the epidemics of measles and rubeola are the inheritance of the war, and stated that all those who have not been vaccinated, regardless of whether they are already adults or not, they urgently need to be vaccinated.
The problem is spreading over Europe as well, in the countries where our refugees live, those who are youth today and who have not received the necessary immunizations during the war. Recent cases of measles in Germany are linked to citizens of B&H.
