The football players from FC Olimpic are the winners of the Cup of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the 2014/2015 season, after defeating FC Široki Brijeg with a better performance in the penalty shoot-out session for a total score of 6:5.
The regular part of the match ended with a score identical to the first final match played in Široki Brijeg (1:1), and the winner of the second match was decided during the penalty shootout.
After half an hour of gametime without significant scoring opportunities, Danijal Brković found himself in a good position in front of the FC Široki Brijeg net, but he got distracted by Wagner Santos Lago. The small Sarajevo audience and local players demanded a penalty from the referee, Ognjen Valjić, but the whistle of the arbitrator from Banja Luka did not make a sound.
After 44 minutes, the net of FC Olimpic finally shook. Excellent action on the right side was performed by Goran Zakarić and Dino Ćorić. The latter centered to the far post where Ivan Peko was, who knocked the ball into the host’s net followed by a great celebration of the visiting players and their team.
The sorrows of FC Olimpic continued a minute later when the referee elimated Jadranko Bogičević from the game due to unsportsmanlike conduct – hitting an opponent in the face.
The second half started with a chance from Luka Menal. Afterwards, Bojan Regoje failed to take advantage of a good opportunity for the hosts. Two minutes later, Veldin Muharemović ties the game for a score of 1:1. Pandža performed a reverse pass, and the captain of the Wolves defeated Luka Bilobrk for the second time in the final match.
Twenty minutes before the end, Hamzic’s defensive intervention prevented Ivan Peko’s attempt for a goal. In the 87th minute, selfish Dalibor Pandža missed a great opportunity for FC Olympic, with an imprecise shot from 16 meters in a situation where he had two free players to pass to, both of whom he did not choose to pass the ball.
Following regular time with a result of 1:1, the penalty shootout started. In the first series, the confident performers were Brazilians Stefan and Wagner, as well as Danijal Brković for FC Olimpic, and Goran Zakarić for the opposing team. Points in the third series were achieved by Ervin Jusufović for FC Olympic, and Jure Ivanković for FC Široki Brijeg. Kenan Handžić and Dino Ćorić were the scorers in the fourth series. Dino Hamzić defended the shot from Davor Landeka and thus brought the victory to FC Olimpic.
