Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bisera Turkovic met with the Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Eric Folkestad in an inaugural visit and thanked NATO for its continuous efforts, engagement and support to our country, including assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Turković assessed that Bosnia and Herzegovina and NATO share a strong partnership with the desire to intensify cooperation.

She pointed out that, despite the pandemic, many planned activities from the Reform Program have been completed, and other activities are underway.

She emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, within its competencies and duties, completed the activities on time when it comes to the Reform Program.

Minister Turković and General Folkestad also discussed the formation of the Commission for the NATO integration process of Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the establishment of which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has completed all procedures, and expressed the expectation that this process will be completed in the coming period.

General Folkestad pointed out that BiH is one of the priorities of the NATO alliance, and reminded of the activities in our country that include support to local communities, and intensive cooperation with the Armed Forces of BiH.

The interlocutors also discussed other important issues in Bosnia and Herzegovina, such as the migrant crisis, which our country has been facing in recent years, the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH announced.
