On 1 April, citizens of Pale will have the opportunity to see the last film of the Russian Film Week which is called ‘Tchaikovsky’.
The film is directed by Igor Talanki and L.Sadikova and starring Innokentiy Smoktunovskiy, Antonina Shuranova, Kirill Lavrov.
Innokenty Smotkunovsky essays the title role in the Russian production Tchaikovsky (released in some areas as Tchaikowski). Avoiding the erotic sensationalism of Kenneth Russell’s The Music Lovers, the film illustrates how Tchaikovsky’s life and work were virtually one in the same. Among the many highlights are the re-creations of the composer’s ballets, brilliantly performed by Maya Plisetskaya. Hollywood-based composer Dmitri Tiomkin who arranged the music for Tchaikovsky and the picture itself earned Academy Award nominations.
The film will be shown in amphitheatre of Faculty of Philosophy of Pale at 7.30 p.m. and the entrance is free for all.
