On the occasion of marking two years from the entry into force of the Stabilization and Association Agreement (SAA), the Head of the Delegation of the EU and the Special Representative of the EU in BiH Lars-Gunnar Wigemark stated that exports from BiH were increased by 12.5 % in the first four months of this year.
Wigemark said that the SAA is an international agreement that regulates the relationship between BiH and the European Union, and the possibility for BiH to submit an application for EU membership was opened with its entry into force.
He noted that BiH exported in March more than 29 % of annual exports that are worth nearly a billion BAM of goods and services that were exported to the market of EU and that this is the new record.
Wigemark further stated that it is important for both Houses of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH as well as entity parliaments, cantonal assemblies and legislative body of Brcko District to develop good relationship and cooperation with the Parliament of EU as well as national parliaments of member states of the EU, because of their role in the process of accession.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH Igor Crnadak said that it is difficult to talk about all sides of the SAA, but that its good side is increased foreign trade and economic activities, and he recalled that BiH achieved record exports in March this year.
He noted that European integrations are gathering everyone in BiH, including the RS and the FBiH as well as all three peoples. He rated the previous two years as positive, also adding that they are not perfect.
He urged the government in BiH at all levels that 33 working groups use the coordination mechanism and give definitive answers to the Questionnaire of the European Commission and to confirm these answers.
