The Director of the Coal Mine Zenica Nevzet Vrskic has resigned from this position, along with the management of the coal mine, was confirmed by Sinan Husic, the President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Independent Mines Workers Union.
The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday gave its approval to the Supervisory Board of the Electric Power Industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina to dismiss Nevad Ikanovic, Production Director, as they did.
Minister of Energy, Mining and Industry Nermin Dzindic said earlier that he expected the resignation of the RMU Zenica Management since they did nothing to solve the accumulated problems in the coal mine. The problem escalated with a protest by the miners in Sarajevo, and then the miners in all three pits of the Zenica mine refused to leave the pit and started a hunger strike.
After an agreement was reached for the FBiH Government and JP Elektroprivreda to assist in debt recovery under the FBiH Tax Administration, the miners terminated the strike and resumed production, News Agency Patria reports.
