The courts in BiH resolved nearly 170,000 of cold cases in 2016, and the total number of solved cold cases in the earliest period of 2010 rose by 660,000, as said from the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC).
These are the latest results of the monitoring process of solving cold cases, which is one of the main activities of the HJPC to ensure that the courts fully respect the fulfillment of plans to solve these cases.
“Specifically, the courts in BiH have solved a total of 168,369 cold cases in 2016, which further contributed to the continuous reduction of the backlog of cold cases, and increasing the efficiency of the courts in BiH, and therefore the judiciary as a whole,” as said in the statement.
Thus, since 2010 when they started applying plans of solving cold cases, the courts resolved more than 660,000 cold cases to date.
In the Courts of the FBiH was resolved a total of 105,288 cold cases until the 31st of December 2016.
In the same period in 2016, the courts in the RS solved 57,766 cases, the courts in Brcko District of BiH resolved 3,805 cases, while the Court of BiH resolved a total of 1,510 cold cases.
