At the plenary session of the member countries held on May 26 in Bucharest, Bosnia and Herzegovina was unanimously admitted in the capacity of an observer to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). On behalf of BiH, the ceremony was attended by the Assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Relations Almir Šahović, stated the MFA BiH.
While addressing the attendees at the plenary session, on the occasion of the admission of BiH to the IHRA Šahović highlighted the importance of the membership of BiH in IHRA as a confirmation of strong commitment of BiH to the establishment of intensive cooperation with IHRA. IHRA is a highly significant international instrument in preventing any forms of new holocaust, genocide and crime against humanity.
During his stay in Bucharest, Šahović met with the Chairman of this year’s plenary session of IHRA, Ambassador Mihneao Constantinescu.
IHRA is an international organization which gathers 42 countries, 31 full members and 11 observers, with the aim of preserving the memory of holocaust and its victims through establishing cooperation in different fields (education, culture, scientific research, etc.).
