Ambassador of Japan to BiH, Kazuya Ogawa, handed the donation in the form of equipment for the six water utilities, to the Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, Mirko Sarovic.
Donation consists of pumps and devices for the detection of faults in the supply network worth more than a million BAM, and are given to the municipalities of Banja Luka, Istocno Novo Sarajevo, Kupres, Pale-Praca, Vares and Visegrad.
Ambassador Ogawa said that he was pleased to attend the handover ceremony and that he hopes that the donated equipment will be of great benefit.
“Japan has previously donated a significant amount of medical equipment and vehicles, and we expect additional 80 Toyota vehicles to be given as well,” said Ogawa, adding that his country supports the people of BiH.
Minister Sarovic thanked the Government of Japan for its continued support to BiH, adding that Japan is one of the largest donors to BiH.
Moreover, he pointed out that it is especially important to note that the Government of Japan always helps users, local communities and public companies.
