Chairman of the Council of Ministers Denis Zvizdic talked yesterday in Sarajevo with the founder and president of the foundation “Remembering Srebrenica” Waquar Azmi.
Chairman Zvizdic thanked for great support and contribution that the Foundation provides to the memory of victims of genocide in Srebrenica.
During the meeting, Azmi thanked for the support of the work of the foundation and introduced Chairman Zvizdic with the plan of establishing the First international memorial center for learning about Srebrenica with the aim of raising awareness about the dangers of intolerance in the modern world.
The Center for learning about Srebrenica genocide will contribute to tolerance, inter-religious respect and awareness of universal values through students and pupil’s visits, scholarships and through projects that will be aimed at overcoming of hatred, prejudice, and fear.
Zvizdic praised the idea of establishing the Centre for learning about the Srebrenica genocide and said that the new generation must investigate and learn from this tragedy in order for it never to happen again. He said that the center will be of great importance for strengthening the memory to prevent forgetting that can be harmful to generations to come.
