The official promotion of projects supported by Western Balkan Fund took place at the beginning of the month of May in Tirana, and the project “If stories could walk, if cities could talk” in realization of the association “Our children” from Zenica and partnership with similar organizations from Belgrade and Prilep, particularly stood out.
That was also an official confirmation that Zenica, Pancevo and Prilep will receive an interactive audio map on oral heritage, similar to the one that Belgrade has. The project “If stories could walk, if cities could talk” was amongst 18 out of 350 that applied on the call of Western Balkan Fund and this says a lot about the potential of young people from Zenica.
“The fact that our project is one out of 18 supported in a competition of more than 350 projects says a lot about the seriousness of this project. I have to further emphasize that this project is result of long-time work of organization management, not a product of coincidence, because we are working on creating project proposals and ideas that have significance to community, with focus on children and youth, on a daily basis,” stated Vrskic.
Interactive audio map will serve to local community, but also to potential tourists in these cities.
Connecting of young people is also very important, and in this case it is a project that gathers three Youth organizations from Zenica, Belgrade and Prilep.
“Shortly, we will promote the so called “oral heritage“ of these three cities with this project. People will be engaged in every city (via public call and in communication with representatives of local institutions) who will present part of the city or specific historical events in interesting way.
Realization of this project will take place in the next 12 months and more than 20 young people from association and wider community will be involved in this project.
