[wzslider autoplay=”true”]The construction of the Sarajevo bypass on the road section Butila – Briješće – Stup, which will connect Sarajevo with the A1 highway, is in full swing. Construction works are carried out by the companies Euro-Asphalt and ŽGP, and surface works are currently being carried out.
This road section is four kilometers long and will connect the Stup loop with the A1 highway. The construction process includes the construction of the Briješće viaduct, completion of the road, construction of the Briješće roundabout, placing traffic signals and equipment and construction of a road outside the track. The total length of road is four kilometers, while the total work is worth 23.3 million BAM.
Currently, surface works are being carried out at the place where the central island of roundabout will be built. Also, digging works on the foundation of the viaduct are being performed, as well as concrete works on the viaduct, with a length around 720 meters.
Contractors will have the most problems with regulating traffic due to the fact that the M17 highway is extremely crowded. Currently the traffic flows under special regime, and the performers are hoping that there will be no major road closures.
As it was announced earlier, additional manpower could be included in the form of a second shift so that the construction season can be optimized. Construction works are expected to be completed by April next year.
Upon completion of the Sarajevo bypass and Stup loop, Sarajevo will get a modern road at the western city entrance.
