Vanja Popović Awarded with the Golden Laurel Wreath for Contribution to Theater

vanjapopovicBy the decision of International Theatre Festival MESS Authority, the costume designer Vanja Popović is this year’s winner of the festival’s highest honor, the Golden Laurel Wreath for her contribution to the theater art. During her working artistic career from 1971 until now, she has implemented more than 500 projects of different genres and stylistic directions in theater, television and film, in the fields of costume and stage design in almost all theaters of the former Yugoslavia.

Vanja Popović has been awarded in B&H, Serbia, Vojvodina, Croatia and Slovenia. She has designed costumes for the opening and closing ceremonies of XIV Winter Olympics Games in Sarajevo, and has participated in many collective and individual exhibitions of Association of Applied Artists and the Association of Artists.

The Award Ceremony will take place on the last day of the festival, on Monday, the 7th October 2013, at the White Salon of the National Theater in Sarajevo, at 18.30 pm.
