The Deputy Head of the US Embassy to BiH Nicholas Hill met today in Sarajevo with the Director of the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs Dragan Mektić.
During his first official visit to the office, Nicholas Hill expressed the strong support of the US Embassy with their activities, and pointed out that it could serve as an example of successful state institutions in BiH.
Hill said that the US fully supports the work of the Service as a security agency in BiH, and which has an important impact on improving the image of BIH in the world, especially as it decisively deals with the problem of people who present a security problem.
Director Mektić stressed that the Department is ready to vigorously oppose all forms of illegal migration, trafficking and smuggling.
He added that the successful results of the Service have considerable merit and to the US, which unreservedly supports the education and training of personnel and technical assistance from the foundation of this security agency.
Hill said that the US will continue to lend strong support to BIH on its Euro Atlantic path, and in this regard would continue to support the Service in a technical sense and through organizing trainings.
He said that the role of the Service remains key in the security system in BiH, given that it represents the first barrier in protecting the safety of BIH from the global threat of illegal migration, terrorism and crime.
The Director of the International Program of Criminal Investigative Training Assistance (ICITAP) for BiH James Tillman attended the meeting, announced the Service for Foreigner Affairs.
