On 30 September 2014 547,937 persons were registered as unemployed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As compared to the previous month, the number of the unemployed was down by 4,382 persons or 0.79%.
Unemployment was down in the Federation of BiH by 2,312 persons (0.59%) in Republika Srpska by 2,029 persons (1.39%) and Brčko District BiH by 41 persons (0.34%), Labor and Employment Agency of BiH said.
In occupational structure of job seekers as on 30 September 2014 there were 149,287 unskilled workers or 27.25%, 10,144 semi-skilled workers or 1.85%, 188,772 skilled workers or 34.45%, 3,243 highly skilled workers or 0.59%, 1,591 workers with primary education or 0.29%, 147,446 with secondary education or 26.91%, 7,521 with higher non-university education or 1.37% and 39,934 with university education or 7.29%.
The largest share in registered unemployment is still made up of persons with third level of education – skilled workers with 34.45% and unskilled workers with 27.25%.
The total outflow from PES registers in September amounted to 21,420 persons, out of which 14,418 persons were employed.
At the same time, there were 6,139 persons whose employment terminated while employers registered with PES 4,493 vacancies in this period.
According to data of the BiH Agency for Statistics, in August 2014 the number of persons in paid employment in legal entities in BiH amounted to 701,654 persons, out of which 289,127 were women. As compared to July 2014, the total number of persons in paid employment in legal entities was same.
Registered unemployment rate in August 2014 was 44.0%. As compared to July 2014 it was increased by 0.1 percentage points.
