The founder of TasteAtlas, Matija Babic, owner of the well-known Croatian news portal, Index.hr, explained few details of the project for Klix.ba news portal.
“I have decided to establish TasteAtlas for two reasons: the first is that I have lost all the will and enthusiasm for journalism in Croatia at one point, and I do not see a chance to change the situation in relation to corruption, clientelism and parasitic economy in the near future. I am a great fan of food and travel, and I particularly love local food and culture. Afterward, I realized that a there should be a web site where one can find out which pasta is best to eat in the south of Italy, cheese on Greek islands or where the best cevapi in Sarajevo – I decided to make a site that will provide this information, “Babic said.
In addition to food and drink information, visitors can find information on authentic restaurants prepare these dishes.
Twenty people were working for three years on the establishment of the website. Bosnian food can be found here.
