Like other BiH cities, Tuzla is most beautiful during the summer. More than 150 various events enrich the cultural life of the city. Concerts, performances of cultural and artistic societies, and a large number of children’s and theatre performances, photograph exhibitions and paintings and a large number of workshops offer the opportunity to enjoy the city every day.
Tuzla is known as a city of novels. From 5-8 September the 13th international meeting of writers will take place, where the “Meša Selimović” award will be handed out for the best novel published in 2012 in the south Slavic language.
“This year we will emphasize a special event, marking 100 years since the birth of writer Ćamil Sijarić, as well as the promotion of the books by Faruk Šehićm, Zoran Ferić, Juliana Matanović and other well-known writers’’, added Mayor of Tuzla Imamović.
What distinguish Tuzla is the Pannonian lakes, where in the first days of summer there is a record number of visitors. At the end of week, according to Mayor Imamović, there should be a bridge opened that connects the center of the city with Pannonian lakes.
