Sinisa Karan, the Secretary-General of the Government of the Republika Srpska (RS), called on the High Representative (HR) in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), Christian Schmidt, to dismiss the Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Zeljko Komsic, because of his statements on the abolition of the category of constituent peoples in BiH.
As Karan said, Komsic’s position on multicultural BiH, even without constitutivity, is just a dangerous tendency to disturb the achieved balance, an attempt to dominate through majoritarianism as a process, and a type of relationship that leads BiH to an uncertain future.
“Since Komsic made his statement, which violates the BiH Constitution and leads to instability in BiH, in front of HRSchmidt, whom Komsic acknowledges, we call on Schmidt to dismiss BiH Presidency Chairman Zeljko Komsic so he would return from Slovenia as a BiH citizen, not as a member of the Presidency, ” told Karan.
To recall, Karan, who is also a professor of constitutional law, is one of the closest associates of BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik, which is why he was appointed head of the Council for the Protection of the Constitutional Order of RS, which was formed as an advisory body to the entity president. Since January this year, he has also been the Secretary-General of the RS Government.
Due to these facts, this invitation to Schmidt, who, as they have claimed at least so far from this entity, is not recognized as the HR, is surprising.
It is also important to note that with this invitation, Karan also supported Schmidt’s use of the Bonn powers, which is something that Dodik is terrified of, and just mentioning the use of these powers most often provokes his harsh reactions.
How Karan will justify this “slippage” with his party boss is still unknown. This is just another proof that the political clique from RS would gladly use the powers of the OHR, but only if they benefit from it, Klix.ba writes.
