The head of the Serbian Orthodox Church Porphyry chose Jahorina for the last address of his two-day stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), with the host Milorad Dodik. Before that, he walked through Bascarsija. He also met with citizens and believers in Istocno Sarajevo, as well as with Mayor Ljubisa Cosic and mayors of city municipalities.
He said that his visit to Sarajevo and Istocno Sarajevo, due to the direct meeting with the citizens, made him immensely happy and opened new perspectives. Also, he told that he sees and feels that life here is not easy, that there is a lot that unites and divides peoples, but that, despite all the challenges, we need each other.
“We are not able to be without each other, but we can’t do anything on our own, no matter how unique we are, without those who are beside us. We all need each other and that is the word of Paul the Apostle,” pointed out Porphyry.
The head of the Serbian Orthodox Church stated that he felt obliged and tasked to pray for peace among the peoples of BiH, but also reminded every individual of the importance of searching for internal peace from which everything else begins.
