The monument to the first President of Croatia Franjo Tudjman was officially unveiled on Friday at the square in Tomislavgrad.
The monument is the work of the sculptor Ilija Skocibusic from Croatia, and it has inscribed words that Tudjman said back in 1993 when he visited Tomislavgrad: “Here is born and here is defended – Croatia”.
Monument was unveiled by Miroslav Tudjman and a nun Matija Pacar, as announced from the Department for Public Relations of the Government of Hercegbosanska County.
The solemn ceremony was attended by Ivic Pasalic, the director of the foundation “Dr. Franjo Nevistic”, the delegate of the President of the Government of the Republic of Croatia Ivana Perkusic, the delegate of the President of the Republic of Croatia Ante Deur, the Vice-President of the House of Representatives of the FBiH Mladen Boskovic and ministers in the Government of Canton 10, Stipan Sarac and Petar Galic.
“With this monument, the Croatian people wants to express its gratitude to the first president of Croatia for all the good things he did for his Croatian people,” as noted in the statement.
The official unveiling ceremony was organized by the Association of Volunteers and Veterans of the Homeland War of the Municipality of Tomislavgrad, the Association of Persons disabled in the Homeland War of the Municipality of Tomislavgrad, the Foundation “Dr. Franjo Nevistic” from Zagreb and the Municipality of Tomislavgrad.
