The employees of the Association “Education Builds BiH” and their former scholarship users came up with the project “Malinjak (Raspberry plantation) Girona”. All the money from sale of raspberries will be directed to scholarships for people with disabilities, talented children, young people and students and schoolchildren and students of Romani nationality.
Representative of the Association “Education Builds BiH” Melina Dzelovic said that the first raspberries were planted at the end of the year of 2016 and they are expecting their first harvest this summer.
The main goal of this project is to give the opportunity to their scholarship users and volunteers to acquire new knowledge and skills, to meet their peers and spend some quality time with them.
“Malinjak” (Raspberry plantation) could not be established without financial support of the Province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain, which recognized the work of the association and the idea of this project.
This raspberry plantation occupies an area of 1.5 hectares in the village of Malesici, the Municipality of Ilijas.
The Association “Education Builds BiH” was established by voluntary associating of citizens as a non-governmental, non-party, non-profit and multinational organization on July 28, 1994. The aim of this association is to provide material support to children who lost their parents in the war, disabled persons, talented children, national minorities and socially vulnerable children and young people to successfully complete their education and to become progressive members of our society.
