The Minister of Civil Affairs of B&H Adil Osmanovic spoke with the Ambassador of Switzerland to B&H Heinrich Maurer on the issues where it is possible to improve the cooperation of the two countries.
The Ambassador of Switzerland to B&H Heinrich Maurer pointed out the significant progress in cooperation with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, especially emphasizing satisfaction with the fact that a meeting of the Board of Donors for the demining field was held after a long time.
Maurer expressed interest for the possibility to give a more significant position to the Board of Donors in the new Demining Law which is currently going through the drafting process.
The Minister of Civil Affairs of B&H Adil Osmanovic said that demining is exceptionally significant for all citizens of B&H, reminding of the fact that 1737 persons lost their lives in explosion accidents since the war.
“Due to this, demining is high on the list of our priorities”, said Osmanovic and expressed expectation that the change of leadership in the BH Mine Action Center (BH MAK) will positively influence the creation of a better image of that institution’s work both in B&H and with the international donors.
