Swedish coach Sven-Goran Eriksson openly told the media that his agent offered him the option to take over the bench of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) national football team.
He said that BiH has good and quality players, but nothing specifically is agreed with the Football Association of BiH (in Bosnian: NSBiH).
“I have never talked to people from the NSBiH, but my agent called me and offered me a job at that team. I know they have a really good team and a lot of players playing in good clubs, among others, in Italy and the Bundesliga. Still, I did not overthink too much because there was nothing concrete about it, “ Eriksson said.
After that he said that BiH has a good national team and training ‘Dragons’ would be a very interesting task.
“I know that BiH has an excellent team. In the final round they have not got the placement at the World Cup, and considering the players they have, it would be an interesting task. However, it is difficult to talk about it because there is still nothing to talk about, “ he said.
In his rich club career, Eriksson led: Degerfors, Gothenburg, Roma, Benfica, Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Lazio, Manchester City, Leicester, Guangzhou, Shanghai and had his last job in Shenzhen. As far as national team career is concerned, he has been the selector of England, Mexico and the Ivory Coast so far.
