Agency for statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first time published total statistical energy balance for Bosnia and Herzegovina for the years 2014-2016, including the revision of total statistical energy balance for the year 2014.
Data are given in energy units of tonnes of oil equivalent (toe). A tonne of oil equivalent is a conventional standardized unit defined on the basis of a tonne of oil with a net calorific value of 41 868 kJ/kg.
Total energy balance represents a sum of individual energy balances.
The methodology for data collection and development of energy balances and their form and content are harmonized with standards and recommendations of the IEA/OECD and Eurostat.
Development of statistical energy balance is a continuous process that will continue with the aim to improve and upgrade the quality of data. The revisions of data may be expected, especially in the field of renewable energy sources that are still in the research phase in the BiH statistical system.
