The Day of the Armed Forces of BiH and 12th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of BiH was marked with the solemn academy and reception for state and international officials as well as members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of cultural, public and religious life in BiH, and the majority of defence structures of our country.
The academy was attended by the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdic, the Chairman of the House of Peoples of BiH Barisa Colak, Minister Ismir Jusko and President of the FBiH Marinko Cavara, Head of EU Delegation to BiH Ambassador Lars Gunnar Wigemark and many others. In her addressing, the Minister of Defense of BiH Marina Pendes noted significant progress achieved in the numerous areas that are under competence of the Ministry of Defense of BiH and the Armed Forces of BiH.
Besides the performance of tasks and goals in the field of security and defense that are prescribed by the law, Minister Pendes also noted that she expects “good cooperation, support and full engagement of all institutions of BiH in achieving the strategic goal of BiH – accession to the EU and NATO, which is expressed through a series of documents – the Security Policy of BiH, the Defense Policy, Directions and goals of foreign policy that were established by the Presidency of BiH, and, at the end, through the Defense Law of BiH.”
“We, in the Ministry of Defense of BiH, will remain committed to true democratic values and adopted Euro-Atlantic principles, and we are aware that there is no other alternative to constant readiness on reforms and adjustments in a search for quality responses to increasingly complex challenges and risks in the field of defence.
A concert organized by the Military Orchestra of the Armed Forces of BiH in cooperation with symphony orchestras of students of music academies from Sarajevo and Banja Luka was held under the baton of Colonel Tomislav Susac and Prof. Ognjen Bomostar.
