“It’s snowing at the Bosnian mountains Jahorina and Bjelašnica. The temperature is currently minus 2 C but according to the weather forecasts the precipitation will not be very abundant so the snow height should not surpass 5-6 centimetres.” – stated for the Fena Agency the director of the marketing and sales of the Jahorina centre, Dragan Sokolović.
He also pointed out that ski conditions will not be realised so soon but that the Olympic centre Jahorina is ready for the winter season.
“We are ready to produce artificial snow and we are waiting the appropriate temperatures to launch the ski resort as soon as possible.” – said Sokolović and added that “the temperatures must reach at least minus 5 to minus 7 C.”
He stated that the majority of ski slopes are furnished and that two mobile snow guns for making snow are ready for use.
“We also did the new modern marking of the ski slopes and guideposts at the mountain and we are currently completing the system for providing night skiing in the winter season.” – added Sokolović.
He pointed out that “during the winter season, in the period of 12 to 14 December all visitors will have the chance to ski for free. Several thousands of visitors who love mountains, skiing and snow are expected.”
At the moment the ski-pass (valid from Monday to Friday) is in sale, and its price is 250 BAM for adults and 70 BAM for children.
