[wzslider autoplay=”true”] Access to arts and culture as a fundamental human right – this is a main idea of musicians and organizers of the Sarajevo Chamber Music Festival (SCMF).
In order to get the beauty of musical art closer to as many citizens as possible, they held a concert in the Correctional Institution in Blazuj near Sarajevo.
In the context of this year’s topic “Home”, SCMF is also aimed at the audience that cannot attend concerts at the House of the Armed Forces for various reasons. This created the action “Small home music”, where musicians go to the homes of interested audience.
The Washington Post wrote about this noble action after Edin Karamazov held a concert in a nursing home.
Yesterday, the festival crew went to the Correctional Institution in Blazuj. The ensemble composed of Sonja Vojvodic – violin, Lidija Paulin – cello and Sonja Markovic – piano, performed the Piano Trio no. 1, op. 32, D MOL (1894) by Anton Arensky, with which will be closed the official program of SCMF 2016 in the House of Armed Forces.
Take a look at the photographs and video at the concert in prison and how the audience reacted to this unusual visit.
The official program of concerts of the SCMF 2016 will last until the 4th of September. Concerts in the House of Armed Forces are starting at 8 pm, and introductory lectures at 7.15 pm.
