The Illumination of the City Hall is part of the campaign of the Government of the Republic of Poland under the name “Niepodległa” (Nezavisna), whose purpose is to popularize this very important date in the latest history of events in Poland, but also around the world.
Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland has launched a campaign of illumination, in the colors of the Polish flag, of the most famous architectural objects of the capital cities worldwide.
Thus, the Sarajevo City Hall as one of the most famous architectural buildings of Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina, which maintains enormous historical and symbolic value, has found itself among the selected ones, such as the Empire State Building and the Eiffel Tower.
Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Bosnia and Herzegovina Jaroslaw Lindenberg told FENA that the illumination of buildings in countries where Poland has its embassy or a consulate began yesterday, November 10.
“On this day, the polish People restored independence for which several generations fought in the 19th and early 20th centuries,” Lindenberg reminded, adding that the Sarajevo City Hall will be one of the chosen buildings to be illuminated in the national colors of Poland until midnight.
