Public Utility Museum ‘’Alija Izetbegovic’’ in cooperation with the City Administration Sarajevo and the City Hall, is organizing a sales exhibition of works of art, and all proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Association ‘’Heart for Children with Cancer’’.
The exhibition will present works of art from the International Art Colony ‘’My Escape to Freedom’’, which has been taking place in Pocitelj for the seventh consecutive year.
The colony is symbolically named after the literary work with the same name which was written by the first president of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). This year, chosen works from the Museum’s holdings, which were created within the art colony, will be featured at a donor exhibition at Sarajevo City Hall.
What makes this exhibition special is its remarkably humanitarian character, as all earnings from the sale of art pieces will be donated to the Association ‘’Heart for Children with Cancer’’ for the purchase of books for the library at the Parent’s House.
‘’There is no lack of care for children with cancer during their treatment. Besides making sure that their path through medical treatment passes as easy as possible, we also care about their social and intellectual needs. Therefore, it is important to stimulate their creativity and imagination, and the best way to do it is through books. We can open up new worlds for them through books and restore a part of their lost childhood, which was disturbed by hard struggle,’’ it is said from the Association ‘’Heart for Children with Cancer’’, radiosarajevo.ba portal reports.
