The third annual “Reconnect” meeting for networking of our business diaspora with suppliers from BiH was opened last night in the City Hall of Sarajevo. This event is organized by BAFA-Restarta in partnership with “Diaspora Invest” project by USAID.
The main goal of the meeting is to offer a support to networking and business cooperation of companies from abroad, including those that are owned by BH diaspora, and current and potential suppliers of services and products from BiH from the sector of IT and production and processing of metals, wood, plastics and other materials.
Head of the USAID Mission to BiH, Peter Duffy, stated that the story of diaspora is very positive for BiH and he noted that this year’s conference gathered a total of 21 companies from the Diaspora.
Moreover, he stated that BH diaspora is showing that more and more businesses in BiH can produce goods and services that are competitive on the markets of both Europe and the world.
“This conference gathered more than 160 participants from the IT and metal sector, and its main aim is to connect as many people as possible in order to achieve realization of joint business ideas in BiH,” stated Board Member of BAFA-Restarta, Adnan Berberovic.
As announced, the second round of regional competition in the best “Leader” business plan took place thanks to the support from the Western Balkans Fund. The nine winners of this competition, which took place in May this year in BiH, Serbia and Macedonia, presented their business plans in front of three members of BH Jury.
