Reception on the occasion of the Queen Elizabeth II’s 93rd birthday was held on Friday in residence of British Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH)Matthew Field.
Also, the event marked 25 years since the beginning of British engagement in BiH.
In his speech, Ambassador Field pointed out the importance of this day by saying that today, we mark 25 years since the beginning of the official presence in BiH.
Commenting on the situation in BiH, Field said that citizens are the most important for British.
In his address to the guests at the reception, Field said that he believes in citizens of BiH, and what citizens are doing to have a better, fairer and more open country is what inspires him.
“Citizens have told us that their priorities are the rule of law, the fight against corruption, the opening of better jobs and a better public constitution. Their priorities are also the priorities of Great Britain,” Ambassador Field said.
The Ambassador noted that the Queen has testified to the birth of modern times on the British throne since 1952. Theresa May is the 13th prime minister, and Donald Trump is the 11th president of the United States in her 67-year-long reign.
The reception was attended by numerous representatives of socio-political life in BiH and the diplomatic corps.
