At the Department of Abdominal Surgery at the Clinical Center University of Sarajevo (KCUS), laparoscopic cephalic pancreatoduodenectomy, also known as Whipple’s surgery is performed.
This is one of the most difficult surgeries in abdominal surgery, and a laparoscopic approach is a surgical procedure which is performed only in a few centers in the world.
The patient is fine and is successfully recovering from the surgery, is announced from the KCUS.
Two additional surgeries that are not common in the region were made as at Department of Abdominal Surgery KCUS: laparoscopic surgery of body and tail of the pancreas – distal splenopacreatectomy.
“At this clinic, we are working on the laparoscopic resection of the colon, stomach, endo methods of plastic of anterior abdominal wall that are fairly standardized methods in the world, but not disclosed until today,” announced the KCUS.
