Fuel in BiH is often the subject of discussion of politicians, experts, media and drivers in our country, especially when it comes to quality and price of fuel that is offered on the market.
While many drivers state that the fuel has inadequate quality, Milenko Boskovic, president of the Association of Oil and Petroleum Products of FBiH, says that fuel in BiH does not deviate at all from the fuel that can be found at petrol stations in the region and even in the European Union. Such an attitude, however, have users of petroleum products in our country who state that the qualitative deficiencies are identified by the increased consumption, the low power of the engine, as well as frequent breakdowns, as reported by Vecernji list.
Boskovic denied all of that and stated that the transport of oil and petroleum derivative is the most controlled industry in our country, controlled more frequently than food.
“The fuel that can be imported into our country is the euro norm 591 for diesel or euro norm 228 for petrol and it represents the highest level of quality,” said Boskovic few days ago.
Federal inspector for the quality of liquid fuels Muamer Terzic said that the procedure of control of liquid fuels is a clear and defined by the law on the level of state and entities.
“Regulations on the quality of liquid fuels, which is regulated by the Ministry of Energy of the FBiH on the basis of decisions, monitor and control all suppliers in BiH. They prescribe number of samples for analysis for certain representatives of suppliers,” said Terzic, thus emphasizing that the possibility of fraud in this industry is further reduced.
Otherwise, BiH, along with Macedonia, still has the cheapest fuel in the region, which drivers from neighboring countries purchase on our petrol stations and do not complain about its quality. The current price of a liter of gasoline at most gas stations in the FBiH is 1.91 BAM, and for diesel 1, 85 BAM. Prices of fuel in the RS are slightly lower.
