Gas prices in Bosnia and Herzegovina this year will be increased by 31.3 percent, was stated in the decision of the BH-Gas Directorate.
As BH-Gas Director Jasmin Salkic said to Klix.ba news portal, the price corrections will have be done because it is impossible to deal with the old price.
Namely, it is about increasing the wholesale gas price to distributive companies.
Following the decision of the Supervisory Board of BH-Gas, a request was submitted, together with an explanation to the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry and the Federal Ministry of Trade.
Through this request, the wholesale price of gas increased from 495 to 650 BAM / 1000 Sm3.
“This increase was solely based on the rise in prices of oil in 2018, and which resulted in a direct increase in the purchasing price of Russian gas. This trend of rising Russian prices was also in the period 2016, 2017 and 2018 and BH-Gas has maintained its sales price of gas at a level of 495 BAM / 1000 Sm3. In the last 18 months, in cooperation with the Federal Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry BH Gas amortized any price correction through its operations through business, “BH-Gas stated.
The wholesale price of gas in Republika Srpska has increased from 435 BAM to 654 BAM / 1000 Sm3 in the last six months, recording an increase of more than 50 percent.
